This one rings so true that it’s embarrassing that I even forgot about it!

This former first lady was a remarkable woman! She was controversial, she was stern and she was always standing behind her husband. Even though he had cheated on her in their marriage, times were different, and she took that and decided to have a public life of her own.

It’s true that behind every great man is a more great woman!

She was the one that insisted that he remained in politics even after he was diagnosed with polio. When he couldn’t make it out, she went on his behalf. How impressive, seeing as woman were seen so different in those days.

She was also highly respected, being the first wife of a president to do writing for newspapers, conducting press conferences, and stepping up her duties as First Lady and doing more than any one of her predecessors.

She solely, changed the way women were looked at in the white house. She was outspoken, brave, courageous and because of all those and more, one of my favorite women!

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

-Eleanor Roosevelt

What I really love about this quote is sometimes we forget how much strength we have as people, especially women. If we are having a bad day or someone was rude to you, if you’re like me you can take it personally and now your day is a little ruined.

But that isn’t how it should be!

Only you really can let someone else ruin your day because you allowed them to.

When I am having one of those days, and people are getting to me I will think of this quote and it can change the course of my day.

Being in a bad mood is not elegant

It is not very elegant to be in a bad mood for no real reason beyond someone made you feel that way. It is important to always check your own emotions on something and not let someone else dictate your mood.

Do not allow anyone to control your feelings, because if you do, you will lose every time.

Be inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt today, feel like the strong woman you are. Do not let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything you put your mind to!

I can only imagine when she stood in for her husband, the President of the United States!, for a press conference, many people probably told her to leave or not take her seriously…

But she refused to back down, she knew what she needed to do and wouldn’t let anyone get in her way! Now… well now she is remembered as a woman to admire!

Today, be the woman you want to admire.

If you are interested in reading more about Mrs. Roosevelt, I got my information on Wikipedia and Biography. She is quite remarkable and had accomplished so much in her life, she is one of the top women to admire as a role model.

Until next time

Keep it elegant!
