What more perfect time of the year is fall?

The smells are intoxicating, the colors are mesmerizing and everyone is happy because no one is sweating! Wonderful smells of pumpkin spice and apples fill the cafes and people start cooking heavier fare which makes for comforting food. Doesn’t it just put a smile on our face? I can tell you for certain that it does on mine! One of my favorite reasons I love fall is for the numerous ways to decorate your house. There is the regular autumn decor that take their cues from nature. You could go the Halloween direction and go for more of a scared and creepy look. Or, you can just go rustic.

Really, anything goes and that’s why it’s the best!

Plus school starts back up and it’s like another fresh start! But, today we are here to get some inspiration from others who love autumn just as much as us!!!

1) Fall Mantel with Touches of Copper

There is something so truly beautiful about copper. Perhaps because I find it is underused and it’s color is so crisp and clean, especially paired with white. I feel that Cheryl from Tidy Mom  have very much in common when it comes to decorating!

2) Chalk Paint Pumpkins

Recently,  I have been addicted to looking at pictures of chalk painted objects. The way the color and texture comes out is always so beautiful and what I love is that there is minimal effort.   Jamie at Anderson & Grant  clearly has a remarkable artsy talent that I envy!   These pumpkins are no exception!   The way she does them, makes it look super easy and the end result is so wonderful!

3) Chalkboard Inspired by Fall

Chalkboards have really made a comeback.   They are fun, they can be a great asset to your decor because of its ability to personalize and the different colors can make it as elegant and crazy as you would like. Kelli and Kristi from Lolly Jane give you a printable to make it easier to write on the chalkboard.   Even the rustic look just screams sophistication and coziness, I will be trying this chalkboard this year for fall, let’s hope it turns out as good! *Fingers crossed!*

4) Farmhouse Pumpkin Bucket

When it comes to fall time, farmhouse decor is so big!   I am one of those women who when it comes to fall time, I bring out the farm! Do I live on one? Nope, but I really feel that it brings you in the mood for fall!   Kimberly from A Night Owl Blog shows how to make this beautiful decor and it’s so easy to make! Even if your artistic abilities are limited, you should be able to pull this off!

5) Lace Pumpkin

Sometimes a little change when using pumpkins is nice. This allows your to play with them for decor and also not get incredibly messy. On Sutton Place has created some beautiful decor and is worth it to check it out.

6) Fall Pumpkin Topiary

I love centerpieces. They can be just as simple as a candle or as extravagant with different effects. I love this one because it is very fall themed and I don’t see many of these let alone ones that are homemade! Saving money is something that I pride myself on, however, it needs to meet a certain standard when being displayed in the house. Christina from The Frugal Homemaker does a wonderful job with her DIY! I believe this one fits perfectly and can be very individualized too!

7) How to Make a Burlap Topiary

I never thought I could use burlap, let alone to actually be something I would be wanting to show off! But this is so simple and beautiful and I really just love how humble it is! Leo and Jane from Cottage at the Crossroads have given a very easy fall project that I am going to do this year! It looks a bit intimidating, but the end result is really nice and would be rather expensive to purchase at a store!

8) Pumpkin Patch Printable

I absolutely adore how something DIY can look this adorable! Sara from Sincerely, Sara D has really thought of an easy project that I look forward to do! This one I especially adore because I find that it is just so professional looking and if that is the look you are going for, then it is perfect! It’s simple and elegant!

9) DIY Magnolia Pumpkin

I can’t get my eyes off of this one! I absolutely adore how understated this masterpiece is! I think I love the neutral colors so much that it can really go with just about any decor, making it very ideal. Kelli and Kristi from Lolly Jane did a fantastic job with this project that I can’t wait to try it out! I also truly love that everything is fake because it now becomes an investment piece! You can use it every single year and store it when it is off season. Everything about it is just wonderful! Their site is so amazing, seeing as this is the second one of theirs on my list!

In Conclusion

It doesn’t matter what you do this year, all I want to do is inspire you! Even if that means to put a couple mums out on the porch or buy a few different gourds, it’s up to you and you alone! Get in the spirit and in the season and do something to make you smile! As for me, you can bet that I am doing as much as I can! And perhaps, I’ll let you all in and see my house! (I realize I am setting the expectations too high, so please, lower them, I am no Martha Stewart! 😉 )
