Welcome Back
There is nothing that kill passion then making it serious work.
Back in 2017, when I first started Elegant Living Everyday, I used to write every single day. I would actually publish a post on a daily basis.
They weren’t perfect, and they definitely weren’t properly researched for the right keywords and traffic volume.
But my goodness, I sincerely enjoyed it.
Doing that is how I reached many of you. I felt like I needed to keep growing to maintain that momentum. So I started doing what I thought was the normal progression of anyone with a blog.
They must start writing for Google or other search engines.
I won’t lie, it was working.
People found my site.
I was getting the clicks and the views,
But the effort of writing for algorithms instead of you, really killed the passion.
Instead of spending time writing, I would be reading articles of the right way to write a blog post. It must be 2000 words long with keywords sprinkled and the proper images etc etc…
I’ve tried multiple times to jump back in, and I would write few more articles and get more traffic – but my goodness, the passion was getting sucked out that I just ended up forgetting about it.
At times, I would rather do anything else than write some generic ever green article that maybe more people would find helpful. Instead of something more personal.
I put it on the backburner and thought, I’d get to it later.
Well… I had to make a decision.
Either I just let it go and never look back at Elegant Living Everyday – or I start all over and do it my way.
Do it the original way.
Even if I’m not successful, it doesn’t matter.
I want to reach normal beautiful women like you and together we can make our homes, lives, and every moment more enriched.
I’m done trying to be something I’m not just to try to be more successful. (Whatever that means anyway)
It is really just not working and I really hope you will come back from time to time.
I appreciate you and you taking the time out of your day 🙂
Talk soon.
Wishing you beauty, grace, and elegance in all that you do!
Jennifer

I love it for youuu. 🤭💞 And I’m here for it. Welcome back Jennifer!!
Well done Jennifer. I’ve enjoyed reading your articles since I found your blog. Please don’t completely take down your previous posts, they’re worth keeping and someone might still find them helpful. Looking forward to reading from you again. Love from Nigeria!
Thank you so much Onatteni! 🙂 I greatly appreciate it and this will be so much fun!
I know Mo, I was a little sad taking them down, some I wrote years ago! However, I’m wanting a fresh start and if they inspire me, I will rewrite them in a way that can be more helpful! 🙂 Thank you so much
Your concept is one that is quite different from others and I love it.
Cynthia – I take that as a huge compliment! Thank you so much!
Thank you, Jennifer for starting over again. It takes a lot of courage to open oneself up and send such a heartfelt message. You didn’t give up, and that says a lot about you. It is part of being that elegant woman who picks herself up and carries on with grace.
Welcome back! I look forward to the new “Elegant Woman:.

Marie! Thank you so much! I guess I just went with the motion and thought I needed to be a certain way but instead of it helping, it really ended up being dreadful to the point that I didn’t find enjoyment with it anymore. I am so happy you are still here and can’t wait for the next chapter of Elegant Living Everyday 🙂
Your happy light and grace have been missed. However, I am glad you have been wise enough to step back, recharge, and reclaim your joy. xo
Thank you so much! I appreciate your understanding and I agree with you that it was nice to rethink “why” I was doing this.
There is something elegant, indeed, to “keeping it real.” I’d much rather read someone’s genuine thoughts and ideas, see their true sense of humor, and get a candid view of what makes them frustrated or gets their dander up. So many websites now are so formulaic I have trouble distinguishing one from the other. Kudos for you for getting back to what matters to you! Your honest approach to your writing will draw the readers who are meant to see it. Glad you are back!
Jill, wow, thank you so much! I am so glad that you are wanting to read real human experiences. I do find that it’s more difficult today to determine what is real. I really appreciate your words and I hope you continue enjoying this new chapter of Elegant Living Everyday with me.
